They've maintained a sound over the º ³ ³º years that conforms all but equally to the º ³ ³º melodic splendor of Helloween and also the more º ³ ³º thrashing bite and bluster of Blind Guardian and º ³ ³º their Swedish doppelgangers Persuader, all the º ³ ³º while maintaining a wholly Christian-oriented º ³ ³º lyrical content that dovetailed with the º ³ ³º involvement of vocalist Herbie Langhans, º ³ ³º arguably one of the most important figures of º ³ ³º said side of the power metal scene and one who's º ³ ³º original flagship project Seventh Avenue º ³ ³º predated Narnia and the resulting Swedish school º ³ ³º headed by Christian Rivel. Suffice it to say, º ³ ³º when news hit earlier this year that Langhans º ³ ³º had left Sinbreed, the author of this review º ³ ³º joined many in morphing from true believer to º ³ ³º hardened skeptic insofar as this band's future, º ³ ³º even as it was revealed that a rising star in º ³ ³º the European power metal world in Nick Holleman º ³ ³º was stepping up to fill the void on the plainly º ³ ³º titled album IV after a brief stint with Vicious º ³ ³º Rumors. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º Surprisingly enough, despite having a radically º ³ ³º different vocal approach, Holleman manages to º ³ ³º settle into the driving, speed-infused splendor º ³ ³º of this outfit all but seamlessly, finding º ³ ³º himself the impresario of a revitalized band º ³ ³º bent on reliving the glory of their crowning º ³ ³º achievement in 2014's Shadows. His voice is far º ³ ³º smoother, airier and higher-pitched than his º ³ ³º gravely predecessor, having far more in common º ³ ³º with a past, 20 something incarnation of either º ³ ³º Andre Matos (during his tenure in the 80s with º ³ ³º Viper) or perhaps Lance King when at his most º ³ ³º intense. The resulting catharsis of this smooth, º ³ ³º late-80s Helloween vocal approach with the º ³ ³º jagged edges of a riff happy speed metal º ³ ³º backdrop intense enough to rival Stormwarrior or º ³ ³º even Grave Digger is nothing short of brilliant, º ³ ³º creating all but a perfect bridge between the º ³ ³º two divergent German schools of power metal into º ³ ³º a finely tuned speed machine. Truth be told, º ³ ³º from a purely musical standpoint, this is about º ³ ³º the most consistently fast and furious offering º ³ ³º to come out of the scene and bears a greater º ³ ³º resemblance to the most recent outings of º ³ ³º Judicator and Ancestral, all the while keeping º ³ ³º that bare essentials guitar, bass and drums º ³ ³º arrangement front and center. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º Barring a rather brief yet unforgettable º ³ ³º acoustic prelude that kicks off the album and º ³ ³º some rock organ noodling that ornaments the º ³ ³º closing speeder "Through The Fire", there isn't º ³ ³º really much to find on here in way of gimmicks. º ³ ³º A rather cliche merger of sea shanty tunes º ³ ³º translated into a dueling harmony guitar º ³ ³º arrangement and a more swinging mid-paced romp º ³ ³º in "Final Call" presents the only real outright º ³ ³º interruption in the full on speed assault, yet º ³ ³º even here the overall impression is an º ³ ³º aggressive one isn't too much of a far cry from º ³ ³º Blind Guardian. Generally the point of º ³ ³º differentiation beyond this is just how utterly º ³ ³º infectious the melodic content of each riff- º ³ ³º happy cruiser on here is from one to the next, º ³ ³º with the opening "First Under The Sun" and º ³ ³º correspondingly speedy and catchy offerings of º ³ ³º "Pale-Hearted" and "Pride Strikes". Special º ³ ³º mention should likewise be made of the longer º ³ ³º and somewhat more measured galloping epic "At º ³ ³º Least I Am", which mixes things up a bit more º ³ ³º thematically, includes some occasional harsher º ³ ³º vocal moments and a brilliant set of noodling º ³ ³º dueling lead guitar passages, not to mention a º ³ ³º wild guitar solo that would make Roland Grapow º ³ ³º proud.s º ³ ³º º ³ ³º The sizable and intensely loyal fan base that º ³ ³º this band has likely accrued over the past º ³ ³º several years due to their closer association º ³ ³º with Blind Guardian and their very qualitatively º ³ ³º consistent output may need some time to adjust º ³ ³º to Holleman's lighter vocal style, but this will º ³ ³º do more than allay their fears of this band º ³ ³º coming to an untimely demise, at least for now. º ³ ³º The foundation is set here for what could well º ³ ³º be an equally if not more powerful incarnation º ³ ³º of this band to continue for the years to come, º ³ ³º hopefully seeing several successors to this fine º ³ ³º piece of studio work will be on the near º ³ ³º horizon. This may even well expand Sinbreed's º ³ ³º base as the vocal work further reveals the º ³ ³º underlying melodic quality of this band's º ³ ³º overall sound, likely roping in fans of the º ³ ³º lighter sound inherent to acts like Freedom º ³ ³º Call, Angra and even the sizable Christian power º ³ ³º metal scene that has remained throughout the º ³ ³º past two decades in Sweden and seen expansion º ³ ³º into parts of Eastern Europe. There is no º ³ ³º telling what the enigmatic druid/Nazgul mascot º ³ ³º of this band will be up to next time around, but º ³ ³º everyone with even an iota of allegiance to the º ³ ³º German power metal scene ought to be anxious to º ³ ³º find out. º ³ ³º º ³ ³º Review written by hells_unicorn for www.metal- º ³ ³º archives.com º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³º Nick Holleman - Vocals º ³ ³º Alex Schulz - Bass º ³ ³º Frederik Ehmke - Drums º ³ ³º Flo Laurin - Guitars, Keyboards º ³ ³º Manuel Seoane - Guitars º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³º º ³ ³ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» ³ ³º Release Tracklist º ³ ³ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÊÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ³ ³ ³ ³ 01 - First Under The Sun [04:07] ³ ³ 02 - Falling Down [04:51] ³ ³ 03 - Wasted Trust [05:25] ³ ³ 04 - Into The Arena [04:44] ³ ³ 05 - Pale-Hearted [05:07] ³ ³ 06 - Final Call [03:29] ³ ³ 07 - The Purge [04:33] ³ ³ 08 - Pride Strikes [04:19] ³ ³ 09 - At Least I Am [06:15] ³ ³ 10 - Through The Fire [05:34] ³ ³ 11 - The Wound (Bonus Track) [05:01] ³ ³ ³ ³ Total Length : [53:25 minn ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» ³ ³ º Greetings To: º ³ ³ ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ ³ ³ ³ ³ Too all people who contributes to make this ³ ³ archive of good music in a exceptional conditions ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³þ þ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
