Band members gathered again at Krauthole, plugged themselves into cosmic jacks and executed this sonic journey with ritual devotion. Following the path they paved through nebulas and wormholes with Kosmische Rituale, their part of the record feels like an extension to their first release. It made us very happy and excited to be able to continue from the spot somewhere in deep space where Krautzone left us to float last time we had to deal with their time and mind consuming sounds. A fulfilling moment it was. Hypnoitic beating of the shaman drums will guide you and keep you going through a thick constellation of sounds and stimuli that will drag you attention to countless directions, luring you to direct your focus to thousands of areas at the same time, leaving you wondering what to do and where to turn. Every time you start to feel lost, and you sure will feel lost at times, just focus on that beating drum, reminiscent of heartbeats, and you will stay safe as it will guide you through the haze of vibrant synths and blurry, echoing guitar lines. Two tracks on Krautzones part of the split, Superkraut I and Superkraut II, differ in feel just slightly. The first one leaves this impression of a space conquering venture, as the rhythm pushes it forward and beyond, like rushing to some distant quadrant to claim it before anyone else gets there. Superkraut II is like a sonic description of that same quadrant, but after Krautzone had undeniably claimed it. It’s like reporting from a safe routine patrol around the edges. Prepare for liftoff, it could get tricky. The other side of the LP went entirely to Lamp Of The Universe’s Doors of Perception, a constant, 22 minute long dive. Listening to this transcendental masterpiece, we went into the depths of nothing else but ourselves and started wandering around, like looking for something. How lost we really got, well… We aren’t sure exactly. Nothing seemed like it could be taken for granted. Answers, questions,orders, praises, curses, fears, love, hate, tension, pleasure, disgust, anxiety, tranquillity, excitement, elation… Echoes of echoes of echoes from somewhere so long ago that you can’t even discern or remember what the fuck it actually was originally. Doors of Perception is a vessel that took us on a such an introspective trip that we couldn’t be amazed enough. Capabilities and power of this stuff is a bit frightening to be sincere.
