Hi, Antony, watching WUWT and, especially the Sea Ice Page, on a rulegar daily basis curious as I am I happened to notice one strange phenomenon in the several Northern Hemisphere Sea Surface Temperature- and Northern Hemisphere Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly-charts you have collected there. In ALL these pictures there is a huge swath of very cold water east of Iceland visible, which is protruding from the east coast of Greenland, then goes past the east side of Iceland and continues to protrude so far to the east already that it is about to connect to the cold waters off the Norwegian west coast. Watching your Sea Ice Page rulegarly since it's Inception already, I have never seen something similar to that before. It looks almost like the cold water from Greenland is about to cut off the North Atlantic Drift there. WUWT? Also, there's another huge blotch of VERY cold water visible in these charts, which is situated off the southern coast of Alaska, too. This water is actually appr. 3-5 degrees centigrade COLDER than it should be, according to the surface temp anomaly charts. I don't know what to make of all this. Do you? Cheers!
